4 bedrooms
Other
A characteristic canal house dating from 1648 on one of Amsterdam’s most charming canals. This listed national monument has a gross floor area of approximately 90 m² spread over six levels, plus a basement of approximately 15 m². The property offers four (bed)rooms, large windows overlooking the canals and an attractive, authentic atmosphere.
The house was thoroughly renovated in 2019–2020.
Layout:
Upon entering on the ground floor, you arrive in a live-in kitchen fitted with a modern kitchen unit with built-in appliances and a wine cabinet, recessed spotlights and a travertine hexagon floor. Additional light enters through the glass floor panels on the first floor. At the front, a cosy dining area has been created with a built-in window seat, ideal for looking out over the canal in summer. At the rear, a stylishly illuminated staircase leads to the upper floors, and the basement is also accessible from here.
The first floor is arranged as a living room with views over three canals. During the renovation, the monumental floor structure was exposed and left visible as a ceiling feature. The space is finished with an oak herringbone floor. A separate toilet is located at the rear.
The second floor comprises a bright room with windows at the front — ideal as a workspace or additional bedroom. Recessed spotlights have also been installed here.
The third floor offers a bedroom and a luxuriously finished bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin.
The fourth floor comprises a bedroom with built-in wardrobe space and large windows.
The attic level is arranged as a multifunctional room with its own washbasin and built-in storage, perfectly suited for use as a guest room, children’s room or study.
In the basement there is a space with connections for a washing machine and dryer. This practical area falls outside the official living area but adds considerable additional functionality and is accessible both internally and directly from the street.
