103 m2 living
3 bedrooms
Other
Located in the historic city centre of Amsterdam, this charming canal house of approximately 103 m² offers a unique combination of character and comfort. The property is spread over five floors and features five rooms, including two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sunny roof terrace with beautiful views over the city.
The property was newly built in 1995 and designed with careful consideration of the surrounding historic architecture. As a result, the classic canal-house appearance is elegantly combined with the comfort and practical layout of a modern home.
The house is situated along an idyllic and quiet canal, right in the heart of the city, yet in a surprisingly tranquil and residential part of Amsterdam. In the immediate vicinity, you will find a wide range of restaurants, cultural amenities, supermarkets, and public transport, all within walking distance.
Layout
The entrance is located on the ground floor and opens into a spacious hallway with storage space and a separate toilet. From the hallway, a generous room is accessible, which is perfectly suited as an office, studio, living room, or entrance area. Because of the mezzanine, this floor is in open connection with the level above, creating a sense of space and additional natural light.
The first floor is arranged as a kitchen and dining area. The open mezzanine visually connects this level with the ground floor, while large windows on the canal side across both levels provide an abundance of natural light.
The second floor houses the spacious living room. From both the living room and the adjacent space, there are beautiful views over the canal. The large windows and the reflection of sunlight on the water create a rich influx of light, making the home feel exceptionally bright and spacious.
The third and fourth floors are arranged as sleeping quarters. Both bedrooms offer ample space for a bed, wardrobe, and a work or sitting area, and each features an en-suite bathroom, one of which is equipped with a connection for a washing machine.
The top floor consists of a landing that provides access to the sunny roof terrace, an outdoor space with stunning views over the city and plenty of room for both a lounge area and a large dining table.
